United Nations - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has decried the "many burning fires" around the world, and called for more commitment to peace, especially from the leaders of the parties to those conflicts. Mr. Ban was speaking at a press conference in Geneva on Monday, 3 October 2016, where he called upon the international community to do more, while also highlighting ongoing efforts by the UN in addressing the many conflicts around the world.
