On the second day of a trip to the the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres visited Ebola-hit Beni and called for intensified efforts to fight the disease. He praised health workers on the frontlines, the Congolese people and donors. At the same time, the UN chief cautioned that only 15 per cent of the pledges have been paid. He urged a comprehensive approach to restoring stability and boosting health conditions in the country.
