This video was totally unplanned, but a lot of fun! It all started because I was thinking of ways to darken the colour of my 100% whole grain sourdough loaves. I can't get any red wheat varieties where I live, and I love 'brown bread' that is actually brown. I also love the famous Australian spread Vegemite, which is salty and savoury and very brown in colour, so I decided it would be fun to try it out in my dough! A fellow member of the Whole Grain Sourdough Baker group on Facebook told me all about Marmite bread in the UK, so I didn't hesitate trying a vegemite bread recipe of my own. I was very pleased with the result, and thought it was worthwhile sharing, even for the novelty of it!
