Before the 2000:
1. 1942: Nineteen forty-two
2. 1700: Seventeen hundred
3. 1801: eighteen hundred and one OR eighteen oh one.
After the year 2000:
1. 2000: in the year two thousand
2. 2003: two thousand and three OR twenty oh three
3. 2012: two thousand and twelve OR twenty twelve
