We are back at it with our Halloween Spooktorials! Can you “see what I’m thinking”????? Today, we’ll show y'all how to create the Zombie Cheerleader Zipper Ponytail ????♀️, complete with fake brains and all!
✅ Shop my NEWLY LAUNCHED Hairitage hair care products, including heat styling tools, hair accessories, and bath & body products, exclusively at Walmart, or online HERE: ???????? https://rstyle.me/+inIxcqHXKIuxyprm5pUzjQ
✅ Get everything you need for this zombie cheerleader zipper ponytail and costume HERE: ???????? https://liketk.it/4lhQO
To start this look, part the hair down the middle into two sections. Next take one section and split it in half by making a diagonal part starting wide from the top of the forehead to the center of the neck. Repeat on the other side. This will create the opening for the zipper. After you have the hair parted how you'd like, add a dutch braid on each side and secure them together with an elastic. In other words, you need to go from 2 braids to 1 by connecting them at the end. Be sure to fluff and pancake the braids for an elevated look. You can use texturizing powder, like Hairitage Magic Dust, to add some grit and grip to the hair. Next, tuck about half and inch of the zipper in at the bottom of the braids.
PRO TIP: Measure the zipper closed from the bottom of the neck to the top of the forehead and then add an inch. MAKE SURE the zipper toggle is BEHIND where you plan to cut the excess, otherwise you'll accidentally cut the zipper off (I may or may not have almost done that). ????
Once trimmed, unzip the zipper and start tucking each side of the zipper under the left and right braid. You can secure the zipper with bobby pins or hair gel as needed. When the zipper gets to the front of the head, you'll need to trim it at a diagonal to help it discreetly hide in hair.
To level up the style I added in fake plastic brains and used the same tucking and pinning technique to keep that in place.
Of course, I had to finish off the Zombie cheerleader look by adding a bow ???? ???? This was actually a pretty simple look to do. It just takes a little time to adjust and fluff the zipper and brain placement.
Happy Halloween & shoutout to @AlexGaboury for the inspo for this hairstyle ????
