Michael Bartlett here. I am a Health and Wellness Consultant and I am a contributor to ConsumerHealthDigest.com. I'm here today to share with you the Top Five Morning Routines that will supercharge your life, so no more groggy mornings, no more miserable days, no more storm clouds chasing your every move. Follow these Five Tips and have a great day everyday. My First Tip for you is to start everyday with a hog mug of lemon and pink Himalayan saltwater.
Despite what you hear about salt, natural salt has so many amazing health qualities, so many functions that are important for your body. To just name a few there's stabilization of hormones. It helps with your blood sugar levels. There's between seventy and eighty different trace minerals in salt, which regulate hormones. They calm your stress and anxiety. Numerous, numerous, numerous health benefits just from a half teaspoon of salt in warm water every day.
Add some fresh organic lemon to that and you have a supercharged morning drink that I can't go a day without it. Lemon, as you know, has amazing healing properties, balances out your pH levels, decreases a number of inflammation activities in your body. Real simple, eight ounces of hot water, half teaspoon of the pink Himalayan salt and the juice of half a lemon and you are good to go with that.
My Second Tip to you would be to commit to a ten minute morning meditation. Meditation is not what you see on TV or in the movies. Simply sitting quietly, focusing on your breathing for ten minutes and it helps your mind detach from the day to day, busy, busy voice that's telling you do and just focus and calm and set yourself up for a successful day. Ten minutes of deep breathing in a comfortable, quiet position and you're ready for Step Three.
Step Three in my Five Routines would be to commit to stretching every day, ten minutes of stretching after a glass of hot salt lemon water and meditation and you are getting ready for a great day. My tips for you for stretching. It doesn't have to be a Yoga practice or Tai Chi, certainly if your comfortable with that, but simply start from the top of your body and work down. Stretch your head, your neck, your jaw, relax your shoulders, fingers.
Work yourself all the way down from head to toe. Get your blood flowing and stretch those muscles, tendons and joints for ten minutes. You have say ten minutes of quiet meditation, ten minutes of stretching, then we move into thirty minutes of exercise. The mistake most people make with exercise is they jump into something and they try to go too fast or lift too heavy or go too hard, too extreme and they phase out, they become exhausted, discouraged, whatever it may be.
My recommendation for you, thirty minutes of daily exercise. Start slow. Start easy. A thirty minute brisk walk or a jog, even a bike ride. If you're looking for strength training or increased muscle mass, start with body weight exercises, push-ups, dips, wall sits, planks. Start slow and work your way up. Thirty minutes isn't that long of a time, it will go quickly.
Again, you're getting your blood flowing, you're building muscle, you're clearing your head, you're setting yourself up for a great supercharged day. My last Tip for you would be to eat a healthy breakfast. You've heard it from your mother for years, but breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. More importantly, a healthy breakfast is even more important than a breakfast.
By healthy breakfast, I recommend a small piece of protein, whether it be an egg or two or a piece of salmon. Some grain, you can have a piece of whole wheat or sourdough toast, some almond butter, peanut butter and some fruit. Simple, simple, simple.
