Procrastinate

Often certain tasks may not interest you, so to avoid boredom, you delay in doing them. You put them off for some other day.To Procrastinate basically means to put off or delay doing something to a later date, due to your carelessness or laziness.

To put something off to a future time is an act of procrastination.

So when you don't focus on something that is important and waste your time in doing other things, it means you are procrastinating.

THE HABIT OF PROCRASTINATING MEANS DELAYING SOMETHING THAT REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.

It also means to POSTPONE DOING What one should do immediately but keeps Delaying NEEDLESSLY.

We generally procrastinate due to distraction, laziness or lack of interest in doing something.
