With a projected global population of 9 billion to feed by mid-century, the world's food systems will need to significantly evolve to deliver the growth needed in a context of growing socio-economic and environmental challenges. What innovative approaches and action-oriented flagships are needed to transform global food systems to improve food security and sustainably nourish billions?
Significant efforts are under way to transform food systems, to be more inclusive, sustainable, efficient, healthy and nutritious, particularly in the lead-up to the Food System Summit hosted by the UN in 2021.
This session will convene leaders from government, business, international organizations, farmer associations, civil society and academia to advance game-changing and flagship initiatives, including those of the Food Action Alliance and other multistakeholder alliances, mobilizing partnerships and investment to deliver impact at scale. Leaders will actively participate in a partnerships marketplace to better understand and inform the opportunities in South-East Asia, India, Africa, Latin America, North America and Europe in an effort to accelerate ambition and advance food systems solutions as we head towards the Food Systems Summit in 2021.
Speakers: Liam Condon, Hanneke Faber, Gunhild Anker Stordalen, Agnes Matilda Kalibata, Tove Andersen, Ajay Vir Jakhar, Lawrence Haddad, Tony Milikin, Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo, Ishmael Sunga, Theo De Jager, Jennifer Morris, Estrella Penunia, Purvi Mehta, Vanessa Adams, Dan Pathomvanich, Christine Daugherty, Mauricio Adade, Jay Waldvogel, Fabiola Zerbini, Ravichandran Purushothaman, Grahame Dixie, Joao Campari, Sunny G.
