Help from the FIRE Department ???????? | Renovating a Property in Rural Argentina

Normally you'd call the fire department to put out fires, but this week we called them over to do the opposite...

This has been an interesting week of hanging out with our local volunteer firefighters, doing controlled burns on the property, and even barbecuing together.

We never intended to do a controlled burn, but after our landscapes disappeared unexpectedly leaving us with a big mess of chopped bushes, shrubbery and small trees, we needed a way to clear the land.

We considered getting a truck to haul everything away, trying to get a wood chipper into this part of the lot, but ultimately, a burn was the best option given the terrain.

This is another glimpse into rural life in Argentina as we attempt to renovate a property in the Sierras of Cordoba.
