My niece Kilee has the most beautiful blonde hair! She came into town, so obviously I had to use her hair for a few hairstyle tutorials! This is such a fun look, and it’s so easy to accomplish. You can use this technique for any holidays, or for school spirit day, just by changing out the band colors! It can also be an everyday style!
CVX Live is coming up! Come meet our family and many other great creators including Karina Garcia, Guava Juice, Rebecca Zamolo, Shawn Johnson, and MORE!! You can get your tickets HERE:
It is #BackToSchool season, and what a perfect way to show your school spirit than to wear #braids like this using your school colors! It holds up super well, and can be worn up in a bun updo, too!

STEP 1:
Pull the hair into a high ponytail. Wrap ponytail with hair and secure with a bobby pin.
STEP 2:
Separate the ponytail into two equal sections.
STEP 3:
Starting with the left section, begin a 3 strand braid. Every time you cross the right section over to the center, add a colored band to it. Repeat for the entire section of hair.
STEP 4:
When you get to the end, add a few more stitches and secure the braid with a clear elastic for the time being.
STEP 5:
Move on to the right section of hair, and begin another 3 strand braid. This time, when you cross the left side to the middle, pull hair through the same elastics.
STEP 6:
As you are close to the end of the braid, add a few more stitches to that braid.
STEP 7:
Use the elastic from the left braid to secure both braids together.
STEP 8:
Connect the two braids using bobby pins on the back side, to secure the hairstyle and make it more secure.
Don’t forget that this is a GREAT hairstyle for different HOLIDAYS! For halloween you could use black and orange hair bands, for valentines day use pink and red, use pastels for Easter! The possibilities are endless for this cute hair style!
Items Needed: Hair bands, small elastics, bobby pins
Time Requirement: 10-15 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
