A lot of people like to use canned tomatoes when they make their sauce but I like to use dried tomatoes. They're flavor is brighter and more intensely tomatoey then canned tomatoes. Place a cup of dried tomatoes in your blender with two cups of boiling water. Whir it up with some sauteed onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and olive oil and blend until you have a nice smooth consistency. And there you have it, an amazingly easy, fresh tasting tomato sauce.
