TRANSCRIPT
Most people, when they're making a salad, think it's got to be like cucumber, carrot, tomato, and then they kind of run out of ideas. I'm going to show you how to riff on a salad. First off, make your own vinaigrette. It is so much better. You can use a recipe for CHOW or just thrown in some lemon juice or vinegar, and do some olive oil, and shake it up. Fresh herbs, you can use any of them, you don't have to only use basil for Italian food and cilantro for Mexican food. Nuts, it's good to consider texture when you're making a salad. Pumpkin seeds can be really good as well. I even like to mix fruit and vegetables together. I know this sounds weird but I like to have grapes and carrots together in a salad. If you do at least a couple of these components you're going to have a great salad.
