The UN Special Representative for International Migration, Ms. Louise Arbour, delivers the keynote address at the first International Forum on Migration Statistics, organized by the OECD, IOM and UNDESA on 15-16 January 2018, in Paris. In her remarks, Ms. Arbour stressed that the availability of timely, disaggregated data is crucial to the design of appropriate migration policies, both nationally and internationally, and that credible economic and social indicators are the best way to counteract myths and assumptions which cannot be the basis for sound public policy.
