Setting Parental Controls
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Parental Controls are an easy way to set up limits and blocks for other users of the same computer.

1. Click on the Start menu in the bottom left corner of your screen.

2. Click Control Panel.

3. Select Set up parental controls for any user under the User Accounts and Family Safety feature.

4. This will prompt the different accounts you have set up for your system. Make sure you have a password on the Administrator account. This makes it difficult for anyone but you to change the various controls. Select whichever account you would like to add parental controls to by clicking on them.

5. A window will prompt you: "One or more administrator accounts have no password. Would you like to ensure passwords on these accounts now?" Click Yes.

6. This will bring you to a new section labeled Set up how kids will use the computer. Select On, enforce current settings. You can set Time Limits by clicking on this feature. This will prompt a time chart in which you can click and drag over the desired time frames you would like to prevent the selected user from accessing the computer.

7. You can also choose what games the user can play. Select Yes or No for each game and Set game ratings. Click the tabs next to the various ratings (Early Childhood, Everyone, Mature, etc.) as well as items you would like to block. These include: Blood, Crude Humor, Drug Reference, etc.
8. Once you have selected the desired items to block, click OK at the bottom right of the screen. In addition, you may Block or Allow specific games. For example, by choosing between Always Allow and Always Block, you can determine that the user can play Chess Titans but not Starcraft.
