After learning about the Israeli Birthright trips that Jewish people take to explore their heritage, Mercedes Bent MBA ’19 decided she wanted her own birthright experience to her motherland. Last December she led a trip to Ghana and Nigeria with other descendants of the African Diaspora, where she learned that a dose of cultural heritage can be all it takes to feel recharged and healed.
