Complete transcript:
That really hurt my feelings. Okay, here's where you're going to do the most important thing. You're going to say nothing at all and just listen. You're not going to start overexlaining, getting defensive, or deflecting. You're not going to tell them that they're being too sensitive or that they're taking it the wrong way. You're going to listen to understand where they're coming from, even if you don't agree with it. And you're going to ask questions so that you can better understand them. Like this, what would you have wanted me to do in that situation? Well, I would have wanted you to. And now you're just going to keep listening and take some deep breaths if you feel your nervous system getting deregulated. Letting someone express themselves is the most mature and pure way that you can love anyone. It lets them know that you're safe and you can even thank them for coming to you at the end of it. This can be a healing experience for both of us.
