This is a cold, slow infusion, made by allowing these nutritive herbs that support the nervous system, liver and digestion to soak in the sun for several hours to all day (at least 3 hours).
Combine in 1 quart jar the following:
1 teaspoon Nettle lf. (Urtica dioica)
1 teaspoon Dandelion lf. (Taraxacum officinale)
1/2 teaspoon Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
1/2 teaspoon Oastraw
1-3 fresh lemon slices
optional upon serving: a swirl of honey...
This tea provides a variety of vitamins and minerals, all of which are important for fertility health.
- Nettle is high in iron and combined with the natural vitamin C in lemon will be easily absorbed by your body.
- Peppermint is a digestive tonic.
- Dandelion leaf supports liver health, important for hormone balance.
- Oatstraw is a highly-beneficial nervine, a very nutritive herb, gentle and supportive over time.
This tea is one way to get a simple dose of daily greens as well!
The original recipe contains 2 parts Lemon Balm also known as Sweet Melissa (Melissa officinalis)… I have left it out today as Lemon balm is best avoided by those with hypothyroidism.
