Christ College's Dr Davidson Nicol was a University pioneer in many ways; most notably for his life-saving research with insulin. He was the first black African to earn a first class honours degree at Cambridge and the first black African Fellow of any Cambridge college after he was elected to the position by Christ's College in 1957. Metabolic Researcher Tendai Chisowa looks back on Davidson's achievements and finds the comparisons with work being done in Cambridge today.
