This is how to make easy strawberry shortcut pie

Need a quick sweet treat? This strawberry pie ticks all the boxes (RECIPE BELOW). Using a Coles Make at Home Pastry Flan, the pastry work has been done for you so you just need to combine fresh strawberries with a few other ingredients. This pie is perfect for a picnic, school fete or dessert. It’s even better with a dollop of thick cream.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCUT PIE
Team fresh berries and packet jelly for a fabulous sweet pie filling. Line a pie tin with homemade sweet shortcrust pastry and bake at 200°C for 10-15 mins or until golden (alternatively, use a Coles Make at Home Pastry Flan 160g). Bring 1 cup (250ml) water, 1 cup (220g) sugar and 11/2 tbs arrowroot to the boil in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in an 85g pkt strawberry-flavoured jelly crystals. Set aside to cool completely. Fold in strawberries and pour into the pie shell. Chill until set, then cut into wedges and serve with whipped cream.
