United Nations - Many children living in countries affected by war or disasters remain positive although they suffer "unspeakable violence", a senior UN envoy said ahead of World Humanitarian Day (#WHD) on 19 August.
Leila Zerrougui, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, was referring to a photo exhibit entitled "When I Grow Up".
The exhibit, on display at UN headquarters in New York and put together by the Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), documents the hopes of young people caught up in conflict and disasters.
