During my first pregnancy, I was not overly cautious about getting a diastasis recti while pregnant. With my second, I was so scared and took every precaution. As a result, I was super safe in avoiding exercises that could potentially cause one. However I did not even think about my core when I was interacting with my toddler who is a heavy kiddo! As a result, despite being super careful while exercising, I still developed a diastasis recti aka ab separation.
