Hello this is Daniel from Endhairloss.eu and in this video I will talk about a simple and natural yoga technique for hair regrowth, called Balayam or Yoga nail rubbing.
Balayam, is an alternative reflexology therapy for hair growth which involves rubbing identical fingernails together with some amount of force.
The word Balayam comes from the combination of two Hindi words "Bal" and "Vyayam".
"Bal" means “hair” and "Vyayam" means exercise.
Combined Balayam means Hair Exercise.
The practice of Balayam is said to be able to turn hair strong and thick and even to help making hair black, eliminating grey hair problems.
Remember to follow a proper diet, and to use castor oil 4 or 5 evenings a week: this will help make your hair stronger.
The link for the proper diet video from our channel and the link for the video on how to use castor oil have just appeared on this video.
Ok back to Balayam now:
this is the right way to perform this exercise.
--- Start rubbing your finger nails vigorously as I am showing here in the video.
--- Curl the fingers as if to form a half fist and rub the fingernails of each hand against each other briskly for five to ten minutes.
-- Remember to exclude the thumb.
-- You will feel a tingling sensation starting from your fingers and going up to your scalp. You can do this anywhere – while waiting for or travelling in the bus/train, walking in the park, in your house.
-- This motion gives the nerves under the nails a good amount of friction, and because the nerves under the nail have a direct connection to the scalp, the friction generated in this way, helps in stimulating the flow of blood to scalp increasing the oxygenation of the tissues, with big benefits for the hair roots.
People with high blood pressure should not perform the nail rubbing as it may worsen their condition.
-- Pregnant women too are advised not to use Balayam, as it may cause uterine contractions or high blood pressure.
-- The success of this technique depends on the amount of force you apply while rubbing the nails.
-- Remember to rub the nails only, not the fingers.
The scientific theory behind this technique has its roots in the discipline of Reflexology.
Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
According reflexology, the stimulation of certain parts of the body, will directly affect other parts of the body.
The roots of the fingernails are directly connected to the scalp and the hair follicles and a daily use of the Balayam technique will eventually strengthen the weak hair follicles, increasing the flow of blood to the roots.
Usually early mornings and evenings are better for doing Balayam, and I recommend to do it on an empty stomach for about 15 minutes a day.
In fact, if you do it right after eating, a lot of your body energy and even blood circulation will be concentrated in the digestion system area, and it will be more difficult to get a good blood flow to the scalp.
So that's why exercising during early mornings and evenings gives faster and better
results.
There are quite a few people who reported to have had big benefits with the use of this ancient technique, so you are free to try it and report your results in the comments section of this video.
