LEGO CAKE! How to Make A Lego Construction Cake - A Cupcake Addiction Tutorial

Learn how to make this simple yet effective LEGO Cake using a giant cupcake!

The LEGO Movie is out soon and the main character is a construction worker, so this is the perfect cake for the little (or Big!) Lego fan in your house. I used a giant cupcake, but you can apply these decorating techniques to any plain square or round cake.

Tools & Equipment:
Cake board (I used a 10" green lego board, combined with a 14" grey lego board and a 13"square wooden cake board)
Sharp knife
Searted edge knife
Offset spatula
Pizza cutter
Fondant rolling pin
Spoon
Paintbrush
Skewer or toothpick
Lego Toys - I used construction themed lego sets - as many or as few as you like

Ingredients:
Ginat cupcake, baked and stacked (links to giant cupcake basics below)
Red chocolate (candy melt) cupcake case (tutorial link below but instead of dark chocolate, I used red candy melts)
White fondant
Buttercream frosting (recipe link below)
Cornflour in a shaker
Melted white chocolate
Water
