What can you make with pizza dough other than, well, pizza? Meet the adult Hot Pockets and cinnamon rolls you didn't know you could afford to make yourself, until now.
Cinnamon Rolls
INGREDIENTS:
One pizza dough ball
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar
8 to 10 half-and-half creamers
STEPS:
1.) Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2.) Roll out pizza dough into a large circle. Spread softened butter over dough.
3.) In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over buttered dough.
4.) Roll up dough into a large cylinder and cut into 8 pieces (about 3 inches thick). Place pieces in the cast-iron skillet and bake for about 30 minutes.
5.) Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and half-and-half. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls.
Ham & Cheese Stuffed Bread
INGREDIENTS:
One pizza dough ball
1/2 pound sliced deli ham
One cup shredded mozzarella
2 tablespoons olive oil
Mustard packets, for dipping
STEPS:
1.) Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2.) Stretch pizza dough into a large circle. Layout ham and cheese in the center of the dough. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
3.) Fold dough over filling, starting with the top and bottom and then the sides. Flip over and use a knife to make 3 slits in the top of the dough.
4.) Place seam side down in a cast-iron skillet. Bake for 20 minutes. Slice and serve with mustard packets for dipping.
Cast-Iron Pizza
INGREDIENTS:
One pizza dough ball
One can whole, peeled tomatoes, crushed with salt
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
Pinch red pepper flakes from packet
STEPS:
1.) Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Heat a 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
2.) Stretch pizza dough ball to fit into skillet. Drizzle with oil and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add tomatoes and cheese.
3.) Place skillet in oven to bake for about 2 minutes.
4.) Remove from oven and top with red pepper flakes.
