Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, ETS has responded with the Special Home Edition of the TOEFL ibt. As of March 23rd, 2020, the at-home version of the TOEFL test will be available for any TOEFL taker residing in the United States, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong, and Macau.

In order to get a better understanding of the situation, Josh MacPherson, head instructor at TST Prep, sat down with Srikant Gopal, Executive Director of the TOEFL Program at ETS to discuss the new Special Home Edition of the TOEFL ibt. The at-home test can now also be taken on a Mac computer if Windows is installed and the test taker is using a Chrome or Firefox browser. More details can be found in the “Equipment and Environment Checklist”. - https://www.ets.org/s/cv/toefl/at-home/equipment/
