More than 3.2 million people are severely food insecure in the conflict-ravaged Greater Kasaï region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The UN World Food Programme (WFP) is ramping up emergency assistance to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe, according to Executive Director David Beasley, who visited the area.
