This week’s Two Track episode features oud artist Bahar Badieitabar performing her original song, “Blossom,” and “Reng-e Afshari” by Qolamhossein Bigjekhani. Her band features Mahya Hamedi on the dayereh, Devon Gates on vocals and double bass, and Nikolai Mishchenko on the keys.

Bahar Badieitabar is an Iranian musician double majoring in performance and composition at Berklee, and the recipient of a presidential scholarship to the college. Her principal instrument is the oud, a Persian traditional instrument. At the age of 12, Bahar began her musical training at Tehran Music School, where she received her music diploma in 2017.

Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel in continuity.
