Ghalieh Mahi (Southern Iranian Herb Fish Stew) - Cooking with Yousef

Hello friends, today we are making a flavorful herb fish stew that is popular in Persian Gulf region of Iran and in the southern port cities called "Ghalieh Mahi" (or Ghalyeh Mahi) ((قلیه ماهی)). The star ingredient is Tamarind, which makes this dish sweet and sour. This is a very unique and tasty stew and while I don't make it often, my wife loves it when I do. Hope you make it and enjoy it!

Ingredients List:

- 750 Gram or 1/2 Pound Fish (choices includes Tilapia, Cod, Halibut, Grouper, etc )
- 6-8 bunch of cilantro (I used 4 bunches in the video and was not enough so I added dried cilantro)
- 2 to 3 tablespoon dried fenugreek
- 150 Grams Tamarind
- 1 Onion
- 7 to 8 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Cup flower
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/3 Teaspoon Chili Pepper
- 1 Serrano Pepper (if you like to add some heat)
- Serve with Rice
