To perform bear hugs with a resistive band:

1. Seated or standing, wrap a resistive band around your back at about elbow height. Hold the resistive band in the front with your thumbs up.
2. Starting with your elbows bent, push outward and forward making a circle like you are going to give someone a hug. Control the band back to the starting position.
