This week Two Track features Sheila del Bosque performing an original titled "Cuentos del aire" and "Manteca" by Dizzy Gillespie and Chano Pozo. The series theme for the month of September is transformation.
Born in Havana, Sheila del Bosque is a multi-award-winning musician and one of the most in-demand young flutists in Cuba. Her music features contemporary and traditional Afro-Cuban music with the influence of European and jazz ingredients. Awarded a full-tuition scholarship, del Bosque enrolled in January 2018 at Berklee, where she has shared the stage with musicians such as Omar Hakim, Paquito d’Rivera, Danilo Perez, Berta Rojas, and Aida Cuevas.
Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting recorded with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance.
