Wai Lana : Yoga Diet to Fight Stress
Its a well know fact that, when we are stressed, our diet suffers.
How many times when you are feeling stressed, have you reached for chocolate, chips or some type of fast foods. Craving sugary high fat or salty comfort foods are common. But these foods actually worsen the problem, It can make us feel lethargic and less able to cope with stress.
Drinking coffee to keep you going also worsens stress by releasing the stress hormone cortisone, making us jittery.
One way to fight stress is to have a nutritious balanced diet. A yoga diet of fresh fruits and vegetables like whole grains, nuts, seeds and some dairy is ideal.
A well balanced yoga diet will boost our resistance to the negative effects of the stress on the body.
