A lot of times you'll get, especially in the winter, beautiful Treviso Radicchio, like this, in your CSA box and it's really too bitter to eat. To get rid of some of that bitterness, cut it up and soak it in ice water for thirty minutes and then drain it, and you're ready to toss it in a salad. Like on CHOW we have a really delicious salad, that's a Chicory Salad, with honey vinaigrette or any type of just mixed green salad.
