The levator scapula stretch is great at relieving tension in your neck if it is tight or sore. Watch more Ask Doctor Jo videos featuring full routines for common injuries and syndromes at http://www.askdoctorjo.com

To perform a levator scapula stretch:

1. On the side you want to stretch, bring your arm up and place your hand on the back of your shoulder blade so your elbow is pointing upward towards the ceiling. Take your other hand over your head and place it on the back of your head.
2. Gently pull your head down at about a 45 degree angle, like you are pulling it towards your opposite knee until you feel a stretch.
