Now someone who's in their 60s or 70s may think, why bother starting to practice yoga if it's mainly for prevention? I already have high blood pressure and other health problems, and I'm overweight. Or a smoker might say that because they've been smoking for so long, why should they bother to quit?
The fact is, if they do quit, they will feel better, get sick less frequently, regain their sense of smell, be able to walk further without tiring, and so on. So practicing yoga postures is not simply for prevention, it's about having a better quality of life.
